Longer, warmer days call for outdoor cooking - preferably over an open fire, or at least a small barbecue. This simple take on spare ribs is an easy-to-reach-for recipe when you’re in the mood to grill in a pinch. We sourced our spare ribs from the Waimea Butcher Shop (highly recommend), and encourage you to source yours from a local butcher if possible, or choose organic and grass-fed beef. Throw this marinade together in the morning, and your ribs will be ready to throw on the grill or smoker come evening. Pop some potatoes in foil while your ribs cook up, and serve alongside a massaged kale salad made with our everyday dressing, and you’ve got a super simple, delectable meal to enjoy with the sunset.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 Spare Ribs
  • 1/4 c Coconut Aminos
  • 2 Cloves organic garlic, smashed
  • 2-3” knob fresh grated ginger
  • Splash of coconut vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. Christmas Berry Blossom Honey
  • Sea Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine spare ribs with all the above ingredients.
  2. Massage until well coated and well mixed.
  3. Cover and let rest in the fridge for at least a few hours. All day is best and will be the most flavorful, but any amount of marinade time is better than none!
  4. Cook until preferred on a grill or barbecue.
